This page explains what cookies and similar technologies LinkyStore uses and why.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser when you visit a website. It allows the site to remember information about your visit (e.g. your language preference or login state).
2. Cookies we use
Essential cookies (no consent required)
- Firebase authentication — keeps you signed in across sessions. Without it, you'd need to log in every time.
- Session tokens — temporary tokens used to secure API requests.
- Theme & language preference — stored in
localStorage(not transmitted to servers).
Analytics cookies (anonymised)
- PostHog — anonymised product analytics (no personal data, IP masked). Used to understand feature usage and improve the product.
No advertising cookies
LinkyStore does not use advertising or tracking cookies on its web app. No third-party ad network can track you through linkystore.app.
3. Your choices
You can clear cookies at any time via your browser settings. Clearing authentication cookies will sign you out. Clearing analytics cookies will reset your analytics session but has no impact on your page or data.
Most browsers also allow you to block third-party cookies or all cookies — our core features will still work with only essential cookies.
4. Cookie retention
- Firebase auth tokens — session-based (expire after inactivity) or up to 1 year if "stay signed in" is used.
- PostHog analytics — 1 year.
- localStorage (theme/lang) — indefinite, local to your device only.
